Soundmuseum.fm provides an international virtual museum for contemporary soundart.
On the website one can find over 200 pieces of soundart, from seconds to hours,
from full cinematic-sound to silence. Within a series of performances the
online museum for contemporary soundart will gain temporarily a 3-dimensional
presence in physical space @ rhizomatic.
Soundmuseum.fm is een
international virtueel museum voor hedendaagse geluidskunst. Op de site staan
meer dan 200 stukken, van seconden tot uren, van opgeblazen geluidskaarten
tot stilte. Door middel van een workshop en performances is soundmuseum.fm
tijdelijk 3-dimensionaal aanwezig in de rhizomatic project space.

Trained as an urbanist, soundartist Cilia Erens was the first to introduce
soundwalks in the Netherlands in 1987. In her sound panoramas and ‘soundscapes’,
she uses largely unmixed everyday sounds. In the absence of words, her work
reaches deeper layers; ‘audible space’ is her speciality. One
of her best-known works is Silencer, a sound show about the stillness of silence.
Geluidskunstenaar Cilia Erens, van huis uit planoloog, introduceerde in Nederland (1987) de geluidswandeling. In haar geluids-wandelingen, geluidspanorama’s en soundscapes gebruikt ze alledaags, voornamelijk ongemengd geluid. Zonder tekst bereikt ze diepere lagen, met de ‘hoorbare ruimte’ als specialiteit. Een van haar bekendste werken is Silencer, een geluidsvoorstelling over de stilte van het zwijgen.

Musical activist Lukas Simonis is musician, performer, radiomaker and cultural
coordinator. In 2008 he organised the 'Outism' festival at WORM, Rotterdam.
'Outism' is a self-invented name for something that goes from 'Outsiders'
to 'Autism' to 'Ism' & anywhere else.
Instrumentalist Lukas Simonis is muzikant, performer, radiomaker en organisator. In 2008 organiseerde hij het ‘Outism’ festival in WORM, Rotterdam. ‘Outism’ is een zelf bedacht woord dat staat voor iets tussen ‘Buitenstaander’ tot ‘Autisme’ en van ‘Ism’ tot waar dan ook.
